A research poster from Benicia, CA-based InterHealth Nutraceuticals, which summarized data on the impact of Zychrome on maintaining healthy insulin levels, took first place honors at the 2014 Scripps Natural Supplement Conference in San Diego. Zychrome is InterHealth’s newest patent-pending, chromium containing supplement ingredient. The post-hoc data was derived from a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study published in 2012 in the journal Molecular Nutrition and Food Research. The abstract will be published in the Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine later this year.
In the study, subjects were stratified in order to determine how Zychrome impacts healthy insulin levels when controlling for medication used to manage glucose levels. The results of this post-hoc assessment showed that Zychrome had a statistically significant impact on healthy insulin levels versus placebo. The research was presented by InterHealth’s senior scientist, Francis Lau, Ph.D. on January 31, 2014.
