Char Pagar has joined Amin Wasserman Gurnani (AWG), a law firm specializing FDA-regulated marketplaces including foods, beverages, and dietary supplements, as counsel in the firm’s regulatory working group.
She was formerly lead e-commerce counsel at Walmart, senior marketing counsel at Sears, and an attorney in the Bureau of Consumer Protection at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
“We are so thrilled that Char is joining us. She enhances our powerhouse Regulatory Group and our reputation as a force in the advertising and digital ecosystem, said Ivan Wasserman, managing partner.
Pagar is an experienced advertising and digital commerce lawyer with a record of helping clients create and develop user experiences and data flows that meet advertising, marketing, and privacy regulatory requirements, and avoid dark patterns, AWG stated.
“Having worked in senior in-house leadership positions at mega-retailers, at the FTC, and in private practice advising leading companies spanning a range of industries, Char brings a true 360-degree perspective of the ad law legal and regulatory landscape, and her arrival strengthens our capabilities to support clients looking to gain a competitive advantage in the online marketplace as well as understand how AI will shape advertising policy,” said Rend Al-Mondhiry, co-chair of the firm’s regulatory group.
“Joining Amin Wasserman Gurnani is an exciting step for me,” said Pagar. I admire the firm and its exceptional regulatory, litigation, and intellectual property platform, unwavering commitment to clients, and reputation for excellence. I look forward to working alongside a team of professionals who share my background and passion.”
Pagar is the second former FTC attorney to join the firm – Robert Durkin, senior FDA official, joined the firm’s Regulatory Group in Washington, D.C. two months ago.
