Contract development and manufacturing organization Sirio Pharma launched a new range of ready-to-market organic gummies and softgels called PureOrganix.
The company’s new concepts, formulated to meet EU-Organic certification criteria, include three gummies and one softgel, each of which includes trending ingredients.
Pointing to projections by Transparency Market Research, Sirio noted that the herbal extracts market is projected to exceed $8 billion by 2030, up from $5 billion in 2020.
The PureOrganix range includes a gummy with evening primrose oil formulated for PMS and menopause support, a metabolic health gummy with apple cider vinegar, and a heart health gummy with flaxseed oil formulated to support the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels.
Sirio’s organic evening primrose oil (EPO) delivers 250 mg of the oil, standardized to 10% gamma linoleic acid (GLA), with a mixed berry flavor. The PureOrganix EPO softgel contains 500 mg of EPO, and is fortified with an extra 45 mg of GLA. The softgels are produced in Sirio’s GMP facility in Germany, which has held organic certification since 2010.
Sirio’s metabolic health gummy includes 500mg of apple cider vinegar, which is evidenced to support metabolic health and weight management
PureOrganix flaxseed oil gummies contain 120 mg of flaxseed oil, which is rich in alpha linoleic acid (ALA). The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has approved a claim that ALA can help maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. The lemon-flavored gummy is made with pectin.
The latest range of products closely follows a line of women’s health products which Sirio launched at Vitafoods Europe in May. This range included 20 ready-to-formulate concepts personalized to suit women’s health issues across all life stages.
“We meticulously designed our new organic range so our brand customers could quickly introduce first-in-class products with organic ingredients,” said Sara Lesina, general manager of Sirio Europe and Americas. “Thanks to our global R&D team, we have successfully created consumer-friendly dosages for some of the most in-demand botanical ingredients, like EPO and apple cider vinegar. We see a significant opportunity for brands to differentiate with organic nutraceutical gummies and softgels, especially for those that come with proven health benefits and formulary excellence.”
