Asiros Nordic, a Danish grower, manufacturer and supplier of farm-to-finish Nordic berries has introduced new prebiotic berry juice powders that are now available in North America.
Branded as Berry Shield, the berry juice powders are made from a blend of Nordic berries — and a variety of additional fibers — that are designed to support digestive health and overall wellness.
The powders are rich in prebiotic fibers that can help support the growth of beneficial gut bacteria and improve digestive health, the company said.
“Our vertical integration starts with carefully hand-selected berries that are harvested at the peak of ripeness from local farmers in Denmark and the forests of Sweden followed by a proprietary low-temperature process that ensures that the natural nutrients, bioactive compounds (including polyphenols) and flavors of the berries are preserved,” said Jan Kuhlmann CEO of Asiros Nordic.
The concentrated juices are then dried into a fine powder that can be incorporated into a variety of products, including dietary supplements, functional foods and beverages.
“We believe that these NMR-authenticated powders will be a valuable addition to the dietary supplement and functional food-and-beverage markets,” Kuhlmann added. A wide selection of Asiros Nordic's prebiotic berry juice powders are available, in both conventional and organic, including elderberry, tart cherry, aronia, lingonberry, red and black currant. They are non-GMO, gluten-free and vegan.
