Gummy supplement manufacturer TopGum Industries, Ltd. has purchased PharmItBe, a pharmaceutical R&D company. It has named Dr. Evgenia Lozinsky, former CEO of PharmItBe, as head of R&D at TopGum. Lonzinsky will oversee all research and development activities, such as creating new products for customers, developing a microencapsulation system, and pharmaceutical-grade gummies.
TopGum will use PharmItBe’s FDA certified laboratory to access comprehensive chemical analytical services. This will ensure quality standards are maintained, even while condensing lead-time for the supply chain process. In addition, PharmItBe’s R&D capabilities will accelerate TopGum’s pharma-grade gummies development for a new facility. The plant, supported by a $40 million investment, is scheduled to be operational by the end of this year.
PharmItBe was founded by Lozinsky in 2016 as an FDA-certified analytical laboratory that develops formulations and new delivery formats, and provides analytical services to the pharmaceutical, dietary supplement, and food industries. The company will continue as a subsidiary to provide services independently to third parties.
In addition to her role as head of TopGum R&D, Lozinsky will serve as president of PharmItBe, and the company will continue to operate as a standalone FDA certified analytical lab. Lozinsky holds a PhD in chemistry from Ben Gurion University, and served for 20 years in senior R&D management roles for several companies such as Agis Industries and Perrigo Co.
