Optimum Nutrition, the makers of AMIN.O Energy Sparkling Beverage, recently released a consumer survey on the need to stay energized and hydrated for active lifestyles, social events, and travel during the summer.
“Summer Friday is more than just a day of the week, it’s an attitude,” said Jim Hogan, brand director for Optimum Nutrition. “People are ready to seize the day and get active. Unfortunately, survey results show we’re not always physically ready to take full advantage of the ‘bonus’ time. That’s when our AMIN.O. Energy beverage can be a gamechanger.”
In the recent survey, which included full-time employed Americans between the ages of 18 and 42, 86% of respondents said that they take advantage of Summer Fridays, even if they have a lot of work on their plate. Many consumers use that time for physical activities such as running, walking, or biking (46%), working out at the gym or at home (32%), or playing recreational sports like golf (17%). Others say they want to hit the road early for weekend travel (52%) or head to the beach or pool (37%), and 71% of parents say they want to have some fun with their kids.
However, many consumers also grapple with exhaustion at the end of the work week. More than half of consumers report being physically tired on Fridays, with their lowest energy levels occurring between lunch and the end of the workday. 36% of respondents said that they are emotionally drained at the end of the week, and 62% of all workers (including 66% of Gen Z workers) said they’ve cancelled their Friday plans because they are tapped out by the end of the workweek.
96% of the respondents said that they turn to beverages for energy, and 61% are mindful of what their drink choices at work say about them. Three quarters of the consumers said they prefer to drink beverages with nutritional benefits, and 59% said they are looking for non-alcoholic energy drinks for socializing.
Additionally, respondents said that since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was an 11% increase in general awareness of hydration levels, and a 13% increase in those saying they are extremely aware of hydration since the pandemic began.
Optimum Nutrition has partnered with Corporate Natalie, a social media influencer who has nearly 800,000 followers on TikTok and Instagram to promote AMIN.O Energy Sparkling ready-to-drink beverage as a solution for energy and hydration.
“It may surprise some people to hear that even Gen Z professionals are feeling worn out,” said the social media influencer who goes by the name Corporate Natalie. “The fact is, as much as younger workers try to prioritize work-life balance, we’re not always feeling up to the ‘life’ part at the end of a long workweek. We’re looking for functional beverage options to help fuel our summer fun.”
“Energy drinks really came to mainstream popularity with the millennial generation,” said Natalie. “We’ve become accustomed to reaching for beverages to address energy needs, but we also are conscious about what we’re putting in our bodies, and even how our drink choices reflect our personalities.”
AMIN.O Energy Sparkling ready-to-drink beverage contains caffeine from coffee beans and a tea leaf extract, amino acids, and electrolytes. The effervescent low-calorie beverage is formulated to deliver sugar-free energy and hydration with no artificial colors, and contains 100 grams of caffeine, about the same as an eight-ounce cup of coffee.
