India-based start-up Leaven Essentials aims to offer “scientific and effective herbal solutions,” tailored to meet customer applications and needs. The company is manufacturing standardized herbal extracts, phytonutrients and specialty fine chemicals catering to nutraceuticals, food and beverage, food supplements, pharmaceutical and cosmetics companies.
Products like curcumin, boswellia, ashwagandha, bacopa, and green tea are currently under development for an expected launch in the coming months.
The company’s principal 20,000 square foot facility is located in Kerala, India and is designed to support dietary/food supplement manufacturers around the world. Leaven Essentials’ manufacturing unit has a throughput capacity of 12 metric tons per day meeting international standards and is in the process of obtaining FSSC22000, Kosher, Halal and GMP certification.
The company believes in Ayurveda and is focused on formulating efficacious, science-backed ingredients through research and clinical validation. An experienced team of scientists are engaged in research & development in a fully equipped, in-house laboratory.
Leaven Essentials has developed connections with local farming communities to train them in good agricultural practices and sustainable collection. Leaven employs technology like DNA fingerprinting and geo-tagging to ensure authentic herb collection and field level traceability. The company is partnering with global customers and distributors and aims to impact human lives and the environment positively.
