Global taste and nutrition company Kerry has debuted the first organic-certified sweet modulator to the U.S. beverages marketplace. Sweet modulators may help to provide a zero-calorie taste similar to sugar, through modulations of the human taste receptor.
Tastesense Sweet Organic Certified can deliver a clean, sweet taste and has applications for organic-certified sparkling waters, low- to no-sugar beverages, functional and energy drinks, and for both high and low ABV alcoholic beverages. It is the first sweet modulator to meet National Organic Program (NOP) standards listed in 7CFR part 205. Available in powder format, it is halal-certified, kosher-suitable, and TTB-approvable, and can be listed on ingredient labels as natural flavoring.
New alcoholic beverage product launches with an organic claim have grown over 25% during 2018-2020, Kerry noted.
