Wiley Companies, an ingredient supplier specializing in fine chemical, pharmaceutical, and nutritional supplement markets, announced that it just turned 40 years old, after it was founded in 1981 by David, Vincent, Dorothea, and Paul Wiley founded the company after purchasing a research catalogue business from Albany International, after its ChemSampCo acquisition that same year. Wiley's story all began, however, 30 years earlier, when Vincent Wiley began research with Dr. Kenneth Greenlee on a research project for the American Petroleum Institute (API) at Ohio State University. Today, the company provides ingredients on a per-kilo scale to clients around the globe.
Today, the Ohio-based company produces a wide variety of materials, in addition to finished products in the nutraceuticals space, such as AlaskOmega, a line of omega-3 fatty acid concentrate powders, and Wiley’s Finest, which includes fish oil supplements as well as plant-based alternative sources of omega-3s.
