Seppic, a subsidiary of the company Air Liquide Healthcare, announced the acquisition of EPI France, an over 75-year-old manufacturer of Ceramosides, a bioavailable ceramides ingredient evidenced by clinical studies to support skin health through both topical and oral applications. Seppic has been a distributor of the ingredient for over 10 years.
This will strengthen Seppic’s position in the nutricosmetics market, further expanding its capacity to assist customers in the development of beauty supplements, as it has for the past decade. Likewise, it strengthens Seppic’s expertise and know-how in botanical extraction and its position as a supplier of high quality ingredients for the beauty market. Additionally, through the transfer of expertise and EPI’s internal production tools, Seppic will oversee the entire process of research, development, and industrialization, from the extraction of raw materials to the active ingredients.
According to Seppic’s estimates, the nutricosmetics market represents $6-7 billion on a global scale, with a CAGR between 8% and 10%. Trends in holistic beauty are creating a strong consumer demand for food supplements formulated for cosmetic benefits which are natural, effective, and of high quality.
