Supplement company Carlson recently launched a new immune support formula called Immune Omega, which blends high concentrations of vitamin D3 and omega-3s, two ingredients noted for immune support benefits. A single teaspoon provides 2,000 IU (50 mcg) of vitamin D3 as cholecalciferol, the form that the body synthesizes through sunlight absorption, as well as 1,100 mg of omega-3 fatty acids, specifically 400 mg EPA and 500 mg DHA.
The lemon-flavored supplement can be taken directly by spoonful, or it can be mixed into foods, such as yogurts and smoothies. To ensure maximum freshness, Immune Omega is closely managed across the entire supply chain, Carlson said.
“We source the highest quality, deep, cold water fish using traditional, sustainable methods,” the company said in its announcement. “Our fish are then transported to a highly-regulated Norwegian facility for processing and purification.”
The fish oil is bottled with a touch of vitamin E (6.7 mg, a 45% DV), and is then given a nitrogen flush to remove oxygen and prevent oxidation.
