Lycored, an ingredients supplier specializing in lycopene and other extract ingredients for dietary supplements, foods, and wellness and beauty products, recently announced its appointment of Shirley Cohen as CEO.
“This is a time of huge opportunity in the nutrition, food, and beauty-from-within industries,” Cohen said. "But even more importantly, I’m excited to be joining a company with a genuine commitment to innovation and a fantastic team of dedicated professionals. These are the seeds of growth. I’m looking forward to working closely with Lycored’s partners and customers, supporting continuing growth, addressing future challenges, and further building Lycored’s reputation and capabilities.”
Cohen, who took up the role on Oct. 1 this year, has over two decades’ management experience in multinational companies. Cohen is a trained industrial engineer and began her career as a consultant specializing in improvement strategies in industries such as plastic and wineries. She also managed large-scale IT projects as a general manager at Tescom Ltd.
Her prior experience also includes 12 years spent as a member of the executive management team at Eden Springs International, a leading provider of water and coffee services for offices. As chief operating officer of the company, she expanded existing markets and developed penetration into new ones through organic growth and extensive merger and acquisition technologies, Lycored reports.
At Lycored, she will oversee major expansion, as the company recently announced it is more than doubling its tomato-based lycopene production to meet unprecedented demand.
Cohen is fulfilling the replacement of Rony Patishi-Chillim, who joined Lycored in 2014 and is now the vice president of Finance at Lycored’s parent company, Adama.
“The decision to leave Lycored wasn’t easy,” Patishi-Chillim said. “It’s an amazing company full of talented people and what we’ve achieved over the past six years means a great deal to me. Shirley is joining the team at a great time because our brand recognition and product offering are the perfect fit for current wellness trends. She brings extensive experience of leading people, which I’m certain will be a great asset as Lycored expands and moves forward.”
