Unilever announced today that it has signed an agreement to acquire Liquid I.V., a California-based nutrition and wellness company specializing in powdered drink mixes which utilize the company’s patented Cellular Transport Technology.
Each of the company’s products are formulated to enhance rapid absorption of water and other nutrients into the bloodstream, which is modeled after the World Health Organization’s guidelines for the clinically proven Oral Rehydrating Solution (ORS). One serving of Liquid I.V. can provide twice or three times the hydration of water alone, Unilever reports.
Liquid I.V.’s product range includes Hydration, Energy, and Sleep formulations, each of which are non-GMO, gluten-free, soy-free, and dairy-free.
