Informa Markets has announced the launch of the global Vitafoods Virtual Expo, slated to take place from Sept. 7 to Sept. 11, which will afford attendees from the nutraceuticals industry with a digital analogue to the more conventional trade show experiences offered in-person, such as learning from and networking with experts in dietary supplement and functional food industries. Each day, the Vitafoods Virtual Expo platform will be run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. GMT.
The event will center around immersive online experiences, showcasing innovative ingredients, consumer and marketing trends, and business solutions for the challenges the industry faces.
“In a world turned upside down, we know what the industry needs most is connectivity,” Chris Lee, managing director of Health and Nutrition Markets Europe for Informa, said. “High-quality digital content on the latest consumer and market trends, science, and regulatory developments is a driving force for innovation no doubt, but only alongside the future of nutrition and health. This is why we’ve made it our mission to accelerate the digital evolution of our portfolio of events.”
The Vitafoods Virtual Expo will involve data-driven matchmaking and a concierge service, in order to connect relevant visitors and exhibitors in one-on-one video calls. In addition, there will be thematic micro-communities set up for those seeking out information and discussion on specific topics. These include sports nutrition, botanicals, healthy aging, immune health, cognitive health, probiotics, omega-3s, and contract manufacturing. Each community will offer tailored experiences featuring live content such as webinars, podcasts, product galleries, and reports.
Informa will also share a State of the Nation report at the Vitafoods Virtual Expo, which will provide insight-driven commentary aiming to inspire the industry, and frame key decisions around the future of the global food economy and optimizing health through science and innovation.
Additionally, Informa Markets is hosting the Vitafoods Virtual Summit just a few days later, from Sept. 15-17, which will give attendees the opportunity to dive deep into personalized nutrition, digestive health, and CBD, each a themed half-day event with an interactive workshop, Q&A, and panel discussions.
Lee said that Informa Markets anticipates that these virtual experiences will become fixtures in their lineup of events.
“The Vitafoods Virtual Expo and Vitafoods Virtual Summit will provide the entire nutraceutical supply chain with interactive online platforms to network, share knowledge, and drive innovation in an evolving commercial landscape,” Lee said. “Anticipated to run annually alongside our traditional in person trade shows, these additions to our offering will help further facilitate dialogues, on the topics that matter the most for today and years to come, all year round.”
