Consumers in Europe are becoming increasingly conscious of what ingredients are in their food supplements, according to data presented in an infographic by Capsugel, Morristown, NJ. Terms like “Pure and Simple,” “Vegetarian,” “Certified Trustworthy,” “Non-GMO,” “Clear Source,” and “Integrity and Safety,” all rank as important language consumers look for when selecting a supplement, according to an NMI 2013 survey.
The most frequent claims featured in new dietary supplements included No Allergens (18%), Vegetarian (13%), and Gluten-Free (12%), according to Innova Market Insights (2014).
Capsugel compiled this data to shed light on the capabilities of its own clean label products. The company’s vegetation capsule portfolio includes Vcaps, Vcaps Plus, DRcaps and Plantcaps.
