Bühler Partec is introducing its new functional additive—Oxylink—for waterborne paints and varnishes at the American Coatings Show (ACS). This additive was developed by Bühler Partec, which has specialized in the processing and refining of nanoparticles (1-100nm) to ready-for-use nanodispersions as additives within the scope of the relatively new business unit, nanotechnology.
The innovative product is a formulated performance additive for waterborne varnishes. It increases the cross-link density of the coating, which leads to an increased MEK rub resistance, as well as blocking and humidity resistance. In addition, Oxylink reduces the time to further processing of the varnished substrates. Oxylink contains tailor-made nanoparticles that create the strengthening effect through the interaction with the polymeric binding agents.
