Vitafoods Europe Transitioning to Virtual Event in September

06.03.20

The convention in Geneva, Switzerland has been cancelled due to ongoing concerns over COVID-19.

Informa, the organizer of Vitafoods Europe 2020 have announced that the event will be transitioning to a large-scale virtual gathering in light of the ongoing public health crisis surrounding the global COVID-19 pandemic. The event, which was originally scheduled for Sept. 1-3, will be hosted online from Sept. 7 to Sept. 11.

“This conclusion was not one that was reached easily, however, with the health and safety of our community in mind, as well as government and businesses restrictions on travel and gatherings, we made the proactive decision to act now, allowing our industry partners enough time to adjust their plans,” Informa said in a statement. “We know that the industry needs a forum to network, educate, and grow their business, so we have decided to shift the live event to a virtual one, with the aim of providing a digital marketplace where the nutraceutical community can discover and showcase new products and innovations, connect with new and existing business partners, and share knowledge and best practice.”

The Vitafoods team will continue to share updates at vitafoods.eu.com and on their social media platforms in the coming weeks.

“Innovation and connection are critical to the Vitafoods community; the engagement in last month’s Vitafoods Digital Week demonstrated how the health and nutrition industry are seeking new ways to discover new products, foster connections, and support their business,” Chris Lee, managing director of Informa Markets’ Health and Nutrition Network, said. “The Vitafoods Virtual Expo will offer a new way to connect industry experts and support businesses overcoming challenges in this new environment today and building a footprint for everyone’s digital evolution in the future.”
