ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is an independent, non-governmental, international organization that develops standards to ensure the quality, safety, nad efficiency of products, services, and systems. Organizations use the ISO 9001 standard to demonstrate their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet and exceed customer and regulatory requirements with a continuous improvement approach. ISO 9001:2015 is the current version of the ISO 9001 standard, which outlines the requirements an organization must maintain in their quality system for certification.
 
ISO certification is available to all types businesses as a means to ensure that all of their quality management systems pass the organization’s audit, which is then certified by ISO’s registrar.
