Specnova Launches Fermented Organic Ginger Extract

The low-dose formulation undergoes a unique extraction and concentration process.

Specnova has launched a high-potency, organic, and fermented ginger extract branded as GingerT3, which provides concentrated doses of bioactive ingredients studied for their roles in joint discomfort.

The extract comes with a recommended daily dose of 75-125 mg, the lowest dose on the market, according to the company. The ingredient is also formulated with no excipients or fillers, and is certified organic.

The broad-spectrum ginger extract undergoes two unique processes. First, several bioactive compounds, namely gingerols, shogaols, paradols, gingerdiones, and terpenes, are produced through a supercritical CO2 extraction process from ginger oleoresin. Then, these non-oleoresin portions of the ginger rhizome are fermented, in order to increase their bioavailability and stability.

The ingredient is tested for purity and potency of phenolic compounds through liquid mass spectrometry, as well as FTIR and HPTLC fingerprinting.

This means that these compounds, which have been studied for their roles in joint discomfort and activity within the TRPV1, 5-LOX, and COX-2 pathways, can be formulated into gummies, chews, capsules, tablets, powders, functional foods, and beverages.
