The Sami-Sabinsa Group recently published a book on selenium, an extensively researched mineral studied for potential immune and other health benefits. The book, “Selenium: In Health and Diseases,” was edited by Dr. Muhammed Majeed, founder and chairman of the Sami-Sabinsa Group. It delves into the chemistry, biochemistry, and biology of selenium in relation to human health.

“The Covid pandemic reinforced the need to maintain a healthy immune system, particularly where there are limited therapeutic options,” said Majeed. “This is a good time to highlight selenium’s immune capability: it aids in reducing oxidative stress, inflammation and disease pathogenesis as well as preventing viral infection and strengthening immunity.”

The book discusses selenium as an essential micronutrient for both human and animal health, and the role of selenium supplementation in enhancing immune function, thyroid function, gastrointestinal health, reproductive function, hair and skin health, and aiding in cancer therapy.

The book also describes various selenium products by the Sami-Sabinsa Group, including PeptiSelect, MethySelene, PeptiSelene, Selendrovir, ImmuActive, Selenium Select, and SelenoForce.

Copies of the book are available online at Amazon and Flipkart in India, and are available to Sabinsa customers by contacting their sales representative.
