Roquette has launched two rice proteins within its Nutralys portfolio, following the recent launch of organic, texturized pea and fava proteins earlier this month. The rice protein will be presented for the first time during IFT FIRST, an event taking place in Chicago from July 10-13.
 
Rice protein is popular in nutritional applications such as special diet foods, sports nutrition, or snacks. Citing Innova Market Insights, Roquette reports that rice protein product launches rose at 20% CAGR over 2017-2021, with strong growth expected to continue for dairy (+38% CAGR over 2019-2021) and meat alternatives (+122% CAGR over 2019-2021).
 
Nutralys rice protein will offer consumers a non-GM, gluten-free, and tasty plant protein source, Roquette said, and will feature both an isolate and concentrate within the range. It has a fine particle size and smooth, soft texture, and a light cream color, allowing for applications in fields of specialized nutrition, optimal for combination with other plant protein sources such as pea.
