Vermont-based vitamin and supplement company New Chapter has launched Organic Holy Basil Booster Powder, its first-ever Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC) product.
 
The product is available exclusively online at the company’s website, and is produced using high organic agricultural standards to meet ROC. The launch reflects the start of the company’s goal to advance regenerative practices in the vitamin and supplements industry.
 
ROC builds upon USDA Organic certification by incorporating additional holistic practices to preserve soil health, animal welfare, and social fairness. Achieving ROC aligns with the company’s Climate Action Plan, which has helped the company achieve B Corp certification since 2014.

Organic Holy Basil Booster Powder contains a sole ingredient, 1,200 mg of small-batch harvested ROC Holy Basil per serving, which can be sprinkled into smoothies, hot teas, or other recipes. It is grown in and harvested from an organic farm in India, and the healthy soil it is sourced from is a key product feature, according to the company.

The brand reports that its first ROC supplement is just the beginning, and the company plans to embed these practices more deeply into its supply chain, and fund more research and education through partnerships with nonprofits such as the Rodale Institute.
