Natrol Launches Probiotic Defense+

Natrol, Inc., Los Angeles, CA, has introduced Probiotic Defense+, a supplement to combining the digestive health benefits of a probiotic with the systemic immune health support of Wellmune.

The product comes in a chewable tablet and each serving includes the clinically recommended 250 mg serving of Wellmune. The product is also formulated with vitamin C and bioflavonoids.

Immune health is a growing priority among health-minded consumers. According to a DataMonitor survey of more than 28,000 consumers in 20 major markets worldwide, immune health is the second most desired benefit, behind only general health and wellness. Natrol asserts that Probiotic Defense+ is a solution for health conscious consumers because it promotes immune and digestive health through a combination of scientifically proven ingredients.

“For people of all ages and lifestyles, it is important to support your immunity everyday,” said Richard Yoder, vice president, marketing & sales at Natrol. “With the power of a probiotic coupled with Wellmune’s unmatched clinical results to safely and naturally boost the immune system, we created Probiotic Defense+ so that consumers would have an easy way to support their health.”

Wellmune is a natural baker’s yeast beta glucan with a large body of peer-reviewed clinical studies that demonstrate its ability to strengthen key immune cells and improve overall physical health. In addition, studies found that participants taking Wellmune experienced enhanced vigor and mental clarity, as well as a reduction in tension and fatigue.

“The increased awareness among consumers that good health starts with a healthy immune system is driving product innovation,” said Richard G. Mueller, Biothera chief executive officer. “By partnering with an industry leader such as Natrol, consumers get the immune boosting benefits of Wellmune and a probiotic so they can build a foundation of health in multiple ways.”
