International ingredient supplier Lipogen recently announced the launch of Cognolipid, a phospholipid formula containing a patented combination of phosphatidylserine (PS) and phosphatic acid (PA), designed to support cognitive performance and response to high chronic stress.

The FDA has authorized a qualified health claim for PS, a primary CognoLipid ingredient, due to its supportive role in cognitive function and dementia. Studies supported by Lipogen which use CognoLipid specifically observed improvements in participants’ ability to manage high chronic stress – a benefit which research shows is also tied to a more optimal immune response.
 
There are no studies that demonstrate that PS has any effect on chronic stress in its single-ingredient form. However, in combination with phosphatidic acid, clinical research shows that the formula has stress management in addition to cognitive benefits, by balancing levels of the stress hormone cortisol.
