Blue Helix Health has announced the completion of a human clinical trial which found that its herbal formula, BluNAD Booster, was able to significantly increase the production of NAD in participants, in an unpublished clinical study.
 
The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involved 140 subjects, divided into four groups of 35 each which were randomly assigned to take BluNAD Booster, an NAD precursor, a combination of  BluNAD Booster and a precursor, or placebo.
 
The researchers evaluated how treatment would impact NAD-boosting activity via blood biomarkers, measures of physical performance, and quality of life.
 
The initial findings of the study indicated that the herbal formula significantly increased NAD, and a synergistic effect was observed in those taking BluNAD Booster with the NAD precursor. Additionally, the BluNAD Booster was unique in its ability to balance NAD-degrading enzymes, according to the company.
 
“This study reveals that herbal NAD boosters can also be significantly effective in NAD support compared to existing precursors, and may even result in higher levels,” said Elise Kaiser, chief growth officer at Blue Helix Health. “Particularly intriguing is the balancing effect on NADases, enzymes that degrade NAD.
