GOED Appoints Ellen Schutt as Executive Director

Ms. Schutt had been serving as interim executive director since the departure of Adam Ismail at the end of February.

GOED’s board of directors has appointed Ellen Schutt as executive director of the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3s. She was previously vice president, communications and education and had been acting as interim executive director since the departure of Adam Ismail at the end of February.
 
DSM’s Tom Feeley, chairman of the GOED board, commented on the decision. “The GOED board is confident in Ellen’s ability to lead GOED into the next chapter of this tremendous organization. We look forward to many successes and great progress for the category under her leadership.”
 
Ms. Schutt added, “I’m very excited to continue the great work GOED has done for the past 11 years. I also see a lot of new opportunities and ways to further our mission. We are very lucky to have an incredible group of members that support our work and share our combined vision for growing the EPA and DHA category on a global basis.”
 
GOED is a trade association representing 200 companies worldwide active in the EPA and DHA omega-3 industry. GOED’s membership includes all segments of the omega-3 supply chain from fishing and seafood companies, to refiners, supplement manufacturers, food and beverage marketers and pharmaceutical companies. GOED’s members agree to adhere to product quality and ethical standards that are as strict or more strict than any set of regulations in the world. GOED focuses specifically on addressing the insufficient consumption of EPA and DHA in the human diet by promoting global consumption of EPA and DHA and protecting the consumer by making sure members produce quality products.
