Brunswick Laboratories, LLC, Wareham, MA, an independent, full-service bio-analytical laboratory specializing in the science of antioxidants and oxidative stress, has received a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). This Phase I award will help fund Brunswick’s ongoing research and development of high-throughput anti­oxidant analytical assays. Bruns­wick has already developed proprietary assays that identify specific compounds contributing to the ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) value of substances. The SBIR-funded research will allow Brunswick to focus on the measurement of additional properties that contribute to total antioxidant capacity.
