Beyond Meat Launches New Beyond Sausage in Fourth Generation of Products

The sausage is now made with avocado oil, and contains 2g of saturated fat and 17 g of protein per link.

Beyond Meat has expanded its Beyond IV product line, which is the fourth generation of its products, with a new Beyond Sausage available at grocery stores nationwide. The new Beyond Sausage has enhanced flavor, meatier texture, and a new formula to improve both taste and nutrition.
 
This new launch follows the launch of reformulated versions of the company’s Beyond Burger and Beyond Beef in April this year, which was the most significant product change in the company’s history.
 
“The new Beyond Sausage is incredibly juicy, meaty, and delicious, and I love that it’s made with heart-healthy avocado oil, helping to lower the saturated fat to just 2g per link! Plus, it has less sodium than the previous version and features a simplified ingredient list. Beyond Meat is truly pioneering the future of superior plant-based meat products,” said Joy Bauer, registered dietitian, number-one New York Times bestselling author, and Beyond Meat nutrition advisor.
 
The new sausage has a reduced saturated fat by 66% versus the previous version, and 75% less saturated fat than traditional pork sausage. The ingredient list is shorter, and no longer contains coconut or canola oils, and has been featured in heart-healthy recipes by the American Heart Association’s Heart-Check program. The new sausage is also certified as part of the American Diabetes Association’s Better Choices for Life program.
 
“The new Beyond Sausage is an incredibly delicious and versatile product that is a must have for your summer gatherings. From classic sausage, peppers and onions, to the perfect protein-topper for pastas, salads and more, these juicy sausages grill gorgeously and sear super well thanks to the addition of avocado oil,” said Diana Stavaridis, senior culinary manager, Beyond Meat.
 
The company also unveiled its first-ever cookbook, Serve Love, a collection of heart-healthy Beyond Meat recipes certified by the American Heart Association’s Heart-Check program. The program has requirements surrounding calories, saturated fat, sodium, and added sugar.
 
The cookbook, featuring Beyond Burger, Beyond Beef, Beyond Sausage, and Beyond Steak, is available for free.

Beyond Meat kicked off the launch of the new sausage in Love County, Oklahoma, by serving cookbook recipes to local residents and families, and will continue a variety of activities and programs in the area including work with a local food bank.
 
The sausage is rolling out in two flavors, Brat Original and Hot Italian-Style, at several grocery stores, with a Mild Italian-Style expected to launch this summer.
