It’s the same every year: one day we’re running between holiday parties and raising a toast to the New Year, and then BAM! IFT is upon us! And it doesn’t seem to matter when your planning started, June is spent finalizing samples and getting them ready for our industry’s biggest show. And with that in mind, I thought I would share two of Fortitech’s past samples, along with their nutrient profiles that were hits with show attendees.
Cranberry Enhanced Water to Relieve Fatigue
• Vitamin B2 – Also known as riboflavin, this vitamin plays a role in the conversion of carbohydrates into energy;
• Vitamin B6 – Also known as pyridoxine, facilitates conversion of glycogen to glucose for energy production;
• Vitamin B12 – Also known as cobalamin, is involved in various aspects of protein, fat and carbohydrate metabolism;
• Vitamin C – Involved in energy production as it relates to enzyme activity;
• Niacin – Also known as vitamin B3, aids in the production of energy from carbohydrates;
• Pantothenic Acid – Also known as vitamin B5, enhances the release of energy from carbohydrates.
Mac N’ Cheese for Bone/Joint Health
• Vitamin D3 – needed to help with calcium absorption;
• Vitamin K1 – works with D3 to aid in calcium absorption;
• Calcium – needed for bone development and health;
• Magnesium – needed to keep bones strong;
• Phosphorous – works with calcium to support bone development and health;
• Zinc – aids in bone growth as well as the development of collagen for joint health.
In addition to these samples, another application area in which there seems to be continued growth is powdered beverages. To that end, we have created a market ready powdered beverage product that includes nutrients, flavors, sweeteners and stabilizers that is of interest to major beverage manufacturers, as well as start-ups. We’ll have this on hand in our booth (1519) this year as a RTD peach Tea. More information on this all-in-one service is available at www.fortitech.com/marketready.
