Company highlighted unique flavors that can be applied to nutrition products.

Nutritional products, whether they are bars or beverages, are often been plagued by flavor challenges. These applications are historically difficult to formulate, and taste often suffers.

At SupplySide West, Kerry highlighted unique flavors that are crossing into the nutritional space. The company blends its understanding of flavor, texture, mouthfeel and aroma with a thorough grasp on nutrition across all life stages and need states. The result is nutritional products that are inspired by and good for people.

“Consumers are being heard, and even in the nutrition space, you have got to nail taste,” said Jennifer Intagliata, vice president of nutrition, Kerry North America. “Consumers do see health and wellness as an essential part of their lives, but taste is the No. 1 driver when purchasing a food or beverage. Nutritional snacks and beverages are no exception. Consumers now demand new and different flavors in this space, just like any other beverage or snack sub segment.”

Kerry offered an array of prototypes that use the company’s flavor expertise in other categories and align with consumer macro trends and demands.

Bew flavors, including berry beet and raspberry grape, offer a feel-good factor and revitalizing, refreshing tastes for those seeking a rejuvenating beverage.

Trending, indulgent flavors, such as bananas Foster and vanilla chai, deliver a more premium experience for those craving tastes that excite and inspire.

The new s’mores flavor delivers an authentic experience thanks to Campfire smoke flavor technology from Kerry, for those seeking the nostalgic and familiar.

More ethnic-inspired flavors such as chimichurri and mango fire deliver a blend of savory and sweet experiences.

“Our ability to deliver the taste consumers crave is underpinned by our formulation excellence in the nutrition space. You can’t have one without the other,” Intagliata said.
