The dietary supplement Hair Essentials, which was designed to naturally combat hair loss, repair hair follicles and stimulate healthy hair growth, is now vegetarian-friendly. Natural Wellbeing Distribution Inc.,McDonough, GA, has unveiled that Hair Essentials now features healthy plant-based nutrients rather than collagen.
In addition to removing collagen, saw palmetto (Serenoa repens) standardized extract (standardized to 45% fatty acids and sterols) has been added to increase the formula’s DHT-inhibiting action. Saw palmetto is scientifically proven to be an effective inhibitor of the enzyme (5-alpha reductase), which produces dihydrotestosterone (DHT) within the hair follicle. DHT is the hormone responsible for the majority of hair loss in both men and women.
Bamboo was also added to increase the amount of silica in the supplement. Silica is renowned for its ability to strengthen hair and improve texture and sheen. Hair Essentials now includes nature's two richest botanical sources of silica, bamboo (Bambusa vulgaris) and horsetail (Equisetum arvense).
