Neptune Technologies & Bioressources Inc., Laval, Quebec, Canada has started reconstruction of its production facilities in Sherbrooke, Canada, following a deadly plant explosion in November 2012. The company plans to reconstruct an operational plant by overhauling the expansion facility that was under construction. In addition to receiving the necessary permits to begin work, Neptune has engaged engineering and architectural firms, and has recently hired a new plant manager. Upon completion of the reconstruction, planned for end of fiscal year, the facility is expected to increase capacity to offer considerably more kilograms of Neptune Krill Oil (NKO) per year, enabling Neptune to increase its offer to clients substantially. “This marks a major milestone in our action plan to prominently increase our production capacity,” commented Mr. Henri Harland, president and CEO of Neptune. “We are taking the necessary steps to strengthen our foundation and we remain confident in our ability to emerge stronger for the future.”
