Description:
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office recently received a patent application for a nutritional beverage designed to lower cholesterol. It can contain between 50 mg and 100 mg of niacin, between 700 mg and 2000 mg of a phytosterol component, between 1200 mg and 2400 mg of red yeast rice, between 200 mg and 1000 mg of L-carnitine, between 100 mg and 2000 mg of ascorbic acid and/or between 10 mg and 200 mg of CoQ10. The ingredients are intended to reduce toxicity, increase metabolism on a general and cellular level, and stimulate compliance by causing a sense of mild euphoria and well being. Mitchell Karl is listed as the inventor, with Ruden, Mcclosky, Smith, Schuster & Russell, PA, as the agent.
