A.M. Todd’s Applephenon, a natural source of polyphenols extracted from unripe apples, has received generally recognized as safe (GRAS) approval. According to the company, 1 gram of Applephenon delivers approximately the same amount of polyphenols found in five apples. In addition, the company says Applephenon offers oral care benefits by preventing bad breath and inhibiting formation of dental plaque. It may also be an effective aid in maintaining respiratory health. Formulated as a spray-dried powder, Applephenon offers high solubility, is able to maintain a long shelf life and has a high resistance to heat and acid, making it ideal for use in a variety of applications.
