According to Spins data, cranberry ranks among the top five-selling botanical ingredients in the U.S., experiencing $66 million in sales in 2015, a 16% year-over-year growth. “With this growth, customers are also demanding a complete premium product, including the delivery system as well as contents. Fruit d’Or is in alignment with this demand. We believe this is another opportunity for us to raise the bar by providing standardized whole-food cranberry product in a clean, pure capsule,” said Mr. Lukawski.
Fruit d’Or is the first to bring to market both organic and conventional non-GMO powders, pesticide- and heavy metal-free, that may now be processed into capsules with a fill weight of at least 500 mg of pure cranberry, the company said, adding that Fruit d'Or is the only cranberry company that guarantees a standardized potency of its natural cranberry powders to contain a minimum of 7% proacnthocyanidin (PAC) content.
Further, the company can now sell vegetarian bulk capsules, containing either organic or conventional cranberry powders, that are standardized for purity, potency and guaranteed quality from the field to the consumers, more and more of whom are demanding “clean” products.
Fruit d’Or was the first whole-food cranberry powder company to sign up for the Cranberry Quality Assurance (CQA) program and to achieve the CQA seal. Under this supplier testing program, the whole-food cranberry powder submitted undergo the following tests:
