Job Description:
The mission of the Vice President of Sales is to drive the continued growth of the business in the North America and around the world. The growth of the business will occur through the VP of Sales developing and executing a strategy to aggressively grow the business by developing a bigger share of business from current customers as well identifying new customers. The Vice President of Sales will be a key leader in the company and will be heavily involved in developing priorities as well as defining and executing against the sales strategy. The successful candidate will not only have the ability to develop strategy, but will be asked to bring creative approaches to driving sales, leading a small sales team, growing existing accounts, leading independent rep strategies as needed, and capitalizing on the growing internet sales function. Most importantly, he/she will be a “hands on” sales leader that enjoys the “thrill of the hunt” and will continue to work with existing accounts as well as personally pursuing strategic opportunities.
Functional Responsibilities include:
The individual will have an impressive track record of achievement as a salesperson and team leader in manufacturing or equipment sales. It is important that the successful candidate be technically savvy with the ability to explain and answer questions from customers and potential customers. Understanding and communicating the value added production and packaging solutions is critical. This experience will include direct business to business sales as well as strategic interfacing with rep organizations. In addition to sales experience, this leader should have market planning, market development, new product applications and product pricing skills. Budget formulation will also be required of this position. The successful candidate will provide leadership to a small sales staff as well as to the entire company relative to growth of the business.

- Work closely with the CEO in developing a strategy to continue to serve existing accounts while implementing a growth strategy for new customers.
- Grow the existing account base! We are seeking a leader with a demonstrated track record of taking a very strong account base and leading the organization in passionately and creatively serving the client which will ultimately result in gaining additional business. This position will be heavily focused on profitable top line growth with a critical requirement to ensure internaloperations are in place to support existing clients.
- Target and secure new business! The Vice President of Sales will have a history of strategically new clients that are a “good fit” with the organization and aggressively close new accounts.
- Develop an operating budget, monitor, and meet the objectives! Our new leader will know how to develop the budgets, monitor results and motivate company staff to meet the goals!
- Develop tools to sell to new and existing customers. Items to be addressed cover a wide spectrum of related topics from refining sales presentations, prioritizing prospects, to the creation of promotional materials.
- Develop and write quotes with the proven ability to determine pricing for margin requirements of the company.
- Directs sales planning which includes analysis of competitive products and sales techniques. Develop sales budgets and forecasts.
- Evaluate market reactions to sales programs/techniques to ensure the timely adjustment of strategies and plans to meet changing and competitive conditions.
