The Vice President, Manufacturing Operations-, reporting to the SVP Distribution, Transportation & Manufacturing, has overall leadership responsibility and accountability for both Greenville and Anderson manufacturing operations. Core expectations of this position include meeting/ exceeding new and existing customer service requirements, meeting/ exceeding operating objectives and fostering a safe and productive work environment. Functional areas reporting directly into this position include all manufacturing and warehousing operations, purchasing, customer service and sales, maintenance, and planning. In addition, operational support functions include finance, product development and human resources.
- Provide solid and effective leadership, support and direction to the Nutra Manufacturing organization in support of the vision of creating an organization dedicated to quality, customer service, innovation and flexibility.
- Develop a solid operating foundation and structure to ensure all operating strategies, business plans, performance objectives and key initiatives are successfully achieved.
- Ensure all financial and performance reporting is provided and presented to senior management on a timely and accurate basis.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of operating strategies, business plans, performance objectives and key initiatives.
- Establish solid and productive working relationships with the senior leadership team and all operating functions to promote open lines of communication, teamwork, synergies, best practices and effective processes.
- Develop a highly effective and professional organization and provide an environment that fosters communication, empowerment, recognition, integrity, honesty and teamwork.
- Provide a leadership culture at the hourly associate-level that promotes positive and effective communication, consistent and credible practices, honesty and respect.
- Provide optimum staffing, training, processes, tools and systems, as well as sufficient and flexible capacities to meet schedule requirements and support customer service requirements.
- Ensure capital budgets are effectively prepared to ensure the adequate maintenance of equipment, facilities and systems, as well as ensure expenditures with ROI’s are realized.
- Support quality programs, strategies and initiatives to include cGMPs, auditing, compliance and training requirements.
- Provide the leadership for the co-manufacturing business needs in unison with GNC business needs.
- Ensure the achievement of all manufacturing KPI’s including those related to throughput, productivity, continuous improvement, quality, safety, maintenance and environmental control.
- Responsible for leading the performance management, engagement and career development of exempt staff
- Bachelors degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or Business Management. A graduate degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Engineering or Business is desired.
- 10 years operations leadership role in a progressive, large scale manufacturing environment. Pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and /or food manufacturing experience and familiarity with a variety of best in class supply chain concepts, practices and procedures is preferred.
