Milestone, Shelton, CT, will be hosting a free, educational webinar that will focus on direct mercury analysis for a wide range of nutraceutical samples.
Due to a rise in the level of health consciousness among consumers, manufacturers producing botanical extracts, vitamins, minerals and dietary supplements will be faced with the need to test for toxic metals like mercury in products. With the regulatory controls looming (Prop 65 and USP <2232>) manufacturers will soon need to rely on techniques like CVAA and ICP-MS to quantify mercury in nutraceutical products, which is often present in the sub ppb levels. These conventional techniques involve costly sample preparation steps before analysis, which can be time consuming and labor intensive. The webinar will examine how direct analysis can break this sample prep barrier and offer direct results in ~6min as an alternative as it applies to the nutraceutical industry.
The webinar will include an introduction to direct mercury analysis, implications of USP <2232> and Prop 65, a look at Milestone’s DMA-80 for nutraceutical samples, comparison between conventional technology and direct analysis, data analysis comparing a wide range of nutraceutical samples and a live Q&A.
The event will take place on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 2:00p.m. EST. It can be accessed through the following website: http://www.milestonesci.com/news-events-menu/webinars/details/67-a-look-at-mercucy-for-nutraceutical-products.html.
